Getting started

How do I start logging?

Download CamoAdventures from the App Store or Google Play, open it, and pick a log: OneHunt Log for hunts, OneCatch Log for fishing, or OneTraveler Log for trips. Tap to add an entry, then fill in what you want: notes, details, and a photo. You don’t need an account to use the free version.

Do I need to turn on location?

No. Location is optional. If you allow it, the app can tag entries and mark spots for you. You can turn location on or off any time in your phone’s settings.

Do I need an account?

Not for the free version. Accounts come with Pro and are used for cloud backup and sharing. You sign in with a one-time code we email you, so there’s no password to remember. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

Free vs Pro

What’s the difference?

FreePro (per log)
Price$0$8.99 one-time per log, or $17.99 for the Pro Suite (all 3 logs, you save $8.98)
EntriesUp to 20 per logUnlimited
Photos1 compressed photo per entryUp to 3 per entry (up to 10 with the Storage Pack)
Where it’s storedOn your phone onlyOn your phone plus a private cloud backup: 2 GB per Pro log (6 GB with all three), kept on a 3-year rolling basis, with a yearly archive download
Sharing with buddiesNoYes, with buddies who also have Pro
AccountNot neededIncluded, with a customer ID (for example CA-100001)

Storage Pack ($6.99, one-time): an optional add-on to Pro that adds 10 GB of cloud storage and up to 10 photos per entry.

Prices shown in the App Store or Google Play when you buy are the ones that count.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. One-time purchase, no subscription. Future major versions with new features may be offered separately; you keep what you buy.

Can I mix and match logs?

Yes. Pro is sold per log, so you can buy Pro for just the log you use most. The Pro Suite unlocks all three at once.

Buying Pro & refunds

How do I buy Pro?

  1. Open the app and tap Get Pro on the log you want, or go to Settings → Purchases.
  2. Choose Pro for one log, the Pro Suite, or the Storage Pack, and pay through the App Store or Google Play.
  3. Sign in with your email when asked. We’ll send you a one-time code. Signing in turns on cloud backup and sharing.

The entries you made on Free stay in that log when you upgrade.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are made through Apple or Google, so refunds go through them under their own policies:

Deleting your CamoAdventures account does not cancel or refund a purchase.

Restore purchases

I bought Pro, but the app says it’s locked.

Go to Settings → Purchases → Restore purchases. You’ll also find Restore purchases on the Get Pro screen.

  • iPhone: make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you bought with.
  • Android: make sure the Play Store is using the same Google account you bought with. If your phone has more than one Google account, check which one is active in the Play Store.

If you see “No purchases found for this store account,” the phone is signed in to a different Apple ID or Google account than the one you bought with. If you see “Couldn’t reach the store,” you need a connection. Try again when you have signal or Wi‑Fi.

Then sign in to your CamoAdventures account with the same email as before so your cloud backup reconnects.

I’m switching between iPhone and Android.

Apple and Google keep separate purchase records, so a purchase made on one store won’t show up when you restore on the other. Email us before you switch and we’ll help you sort it out.

Moving to a new phone

I have Pro.

  1. Install CamoAdventures on the new phone.
  2. Tap Restore purchases (see above).
  3. Sign in with the same email you used before.
  4. Your Pro logs download from your cloud backup. Give it a little time on Wi‑Fi if you have a lot of photos.

Before you wipe or trade in the old phone, open Settings → Cloud storage there and tap Back up now while you have a connection.

I use the free version.

Free logs live only on your phone. We never receive them, so we can’t restore them for you. Before you switch phones:

  1. On the old phone, go to Settings → Backup → Export my logs. This saves a backup file.
  2. Keep that file somewhere you can reach from the new phone, for example by emailing it to yourself or saving it to iCloud Drive or Google Drive.
  3. On the new phone, go to Settings → Backup → Import logs and pick the file.

Uninstalling the app or resetting your phone deletes Free logs that are only on the phone. Export first.

Backups & storage

How does Pro cloud backup work?

For each log you have Pro for, the app keeps a full private copy of your entries in the cloud, including notes, photos, spots, and coordinates, so you can restore everything on a new phone. Only you can see your backup. It’s never shown to followers, groups, or anyone else.

You can see your status and storage use in Settings → Cloud storage, and tap Back up now any time you have a connection.

How much storage do I get?

Each Pro log gets 2 GB of compressed cloud storage, so all three logs get 6 GB. The optional Storage Pack adds another 10 GB.

What does “3-year rolling” mean?

Cloud copies are kept for 3 years after each entry’s date. Once a year you can download an archive of your cloud entries from Settings → Cloud storage to keep them longer. Entries still on your phone stay there.

Photos

How many photos can I add?

Free: 1 compressed photo per entry. Pro: up to 3 per entry. Pro with the Storage Pack: up to 10 per entry.

Do shared photos give away my spot?

When you share an update, the app removes the location (GPS) and other hidden details from each photo before it’s uploaded. Your private spots and GPS coordinates are never shared. A photo can still show a landmark, a sign, or a trailhead, though, so take a look before you post.

The app can’t reach my camera or photos.

Check your phone’s settings and allow CamoAdventures to use the camera and photos. On iPhone that’s Settings → CamoAdventures. On Android it’s Settings → Apps → CamoAdventures → Permissions. The exact names vary a little by phone.

Sharing with buddies

Who can I share with?

Sharing is a Pro feature, and your buddy needs Pro too. Both of you need Pro for the log you’re sharing, and both of you must be 18 or older. Nobody gets your updates unless you approve them, and you only get theirs if they approve you.

How do I invite a buddy?

  1. Go to Settings → Pro: followers & sharing → Open Pro sharing.
  2. Send your buddy a follow request. You can add a short note of up to 140 characters.
  3. Your buddy approves it from their Inbox. Follows work both ways: each side sends a request and the other side approves.
  4. Share an update from an entry to approved followers or to a saved group. You can add a note of up to 280 characters and up to 3 photos.

Before your first share, the app shows our Community Rules. You agree to them once, and you’ll see them again if they change. Shares are text only unless you add photos. You can delete a shared update later, and we’ll remove our copy.

Is there chat?

No. The Inbox only holds shared log updates and follow requests, each with an optional short note. There are no chats, replies, or threads.

Someone is bothering me. What can I do?

  • Flag: tap ⋯ on any shared post, then Flag this post. Flags go only to CamoAdventures, for things like spam or rude posts; we never contact game and fish or any other agency. They aren’t told who flagged them. Our founder reviews flagged posts personally, usually within 24 to 48 hours.
  • Block this person: tap ⋯, then Block this person, to block anyone, anytime.
  • How blocking works: blocking works both ways. You stop seeing each other everywhere in the app, including in shared groups, and neither of you can follow, share with, or contact the other. They aren’t notified.
  • Remove: you can remove a follower or unfollow someone at any time. Group owners can remove members from their groups.

If we take action on your account and you think we got it wrong, email [email protected], or see “Appeals” in Section 8 of our Terms.

Notifications not arriving

I’m not getting notifications.

Notifications are optional. They cover follow requests, approvals, and updates from people you follow. Check these things:

  1. Phone permission. iPhone: Settings → Notifications → CamoAdventures, then turn on Allow Notifications. Android: Settings → Apps → CamoAdventures → Notifications, then turn them on, including “Shared updates & follow requests.”
  2. Focus, Do Not Disturb, or battery saver. These can hold notifications back. On Android, battery-saving settings for the app can delay them.
  3. Signed in and approved. You need to be signed in to your Pro account, and you only get updates from people you’ve approved, and who have approved you.
  4. Connection. Notifications need signal or Wi‑Fi. Ones sent while you were out of range may show up late.
  5. Open the app. Opening CamoAdventures with a connection can refresh your notification setup.

Missed one? Everything still shows up in your in-app Inbox, with or without notifications.

No signal or weak signal

Does the app work out where there’s no signal?

Yes. Logging doesn’t need a connection. Your entries and photos save on your phone right away, so you can log from the stand, the boat, or the backcountry.

With Pro, the cloud backup catches up once you’re back in range. To make sure it’s done, open the app with a connection and tap Settings → Cloud storage → Back up now.

Signing in, buying or restoring Pro, sharing, and receiving updates all need a connection. If one of these fails out in the field, try again when you have signal or Wi‑Fi.

Can I use the app to find my way or call for help?

No. CamoAdventures is a logbook, not a navigation or emergency tool. Tell someone your plans and carry the right safety gear. Always check your state’s official seasons, limits, and regulations.

Deleting your account

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. You can also ask by email. Both options, plus what gets deleted and what we keep, are on our Delete your account page.

  • Deleting removes your account and profile, your follows and groups, your Inbox, your shared updates and photos, and your Pro cloud backup.
  • Logs stored on your phone stay there until you delete them or uninstall the app. Export them first if you want a copy.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel or refund store purchases.

Privacy

What do you do with my data?

Free logs stay on your phone, and we never receive them. We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t use ad networks, and your spots and GPS coordinates are never shared with other users. You can turn off anonymous usage statistics with the Share usage stats switch in Settings.

For the full details, including your privacy rights and how to make a request, read our Privacy Policy.

Still need help?

Email [email protected] with your phone model, app version, and which log. We’ll take it from there.
